It's been going for years and is a very steady session - speeding fines will be issued : ) It's usually anchored by the wonderful Seamus Creagh on fiddle, the venerable Matty Tehan on box and very steady Rory O'Donovan nowadays playing mandolin and there is usually a variety of other instruments and players there as well. Begineers welcome. Blackrock is about 2.5miles East of Cork City Centre, accessable by the no. 2 bus.

This was a legendary session (Seamus Creagh RIP), but no longer going on at the moment. Stop about a couple months ago :(

What can I say, temporary halt called to the session again this spring. May be back in the summer 2012.
