The O'Rowland's pub is a great and friendly place in the heart of Bordeaux. You can enjoy there Irish music on every Friday night played by the pub's band, the O'Rowland's Stone, and their friends. There's also a lot of singing with all the most famous Irish songs in English or Gaelic.Come and see by yourself! A real Coin d'Irlande in Bordeaux!
Does Dominique Charly play at this session, Banshigor? Or Vincent, the fiddle player who´s always smiling ? I was at a session and ceili with them last weekend in Dax.
Do I know you?Maybe not, but well...Dominique Charly and his band friends do play quite often at the O'Rowland's pub.Dominique and his wife also come to the session at Villamblard, so you can imagine the music quality of both sessions!
Yes, the quality of French musicians of Irish music never ceases to amaze me. I go to sessions in an area that goes from Les Landes, through Tarbes and Pau to Toulouse. Not as often as I would like, and most of them are not regular sessions but more "ad hoc" ones. No, we probably haven´t met, Banshigor, but I´m sure we will at some forthcoming session.
I have two friends I haven´t seen for a long time, Hugues (concertina) and Sylvain (fiddle) from La Rochelle where they have a regular session. If you know them, get them to join Thesession.org and put details of their session here.
All the best,
Mike
