"Belfast" Andy, an authentic Irish singer / bodhran / guitar player leads the session, but I'd say the ration of song / tunes is about 1/4.
Sunday evenings from 7 - 10 at McKibbins. Regulars Belfast Andi, Banjo Bob, Susanne on bass and Patrick on guitar. A more irreverant session mixing songs, traditional tunes and bluegrass. A very welcoming session.
Thanks to Loa for updating the McKibbin's session details. Since the Pub opened 11 years ago the session at McKibbin's has been through many changes. Originally founded by Belfast Andi in 1996 the session was usurped the next year by an unameable twit, with Andi in the background. Session nights have been Mondays,Tuesdays, Saturdays and now Sundays. With the "session usurper" out of the picture, Andi continues to host his McKibbin's session Sunday nights 5-8pm with sidekicks Banjo Bob Cussen and Patrick Hutchinson. Thanks' to all loyal players who join in every week. Sorry for the constant changes of Days and times of the sésiun. That's due to the pub management. the session is not even listed in the music listings @ McKibbin's website even though it is the only form of live Irish music played in this so called "Irish Pub", apart from St Paddy's weekend once a year in March.

As of Saturday Nov. 19, the McKibbins session will be on Sunday, starting around 6.
