The Baxter sessions have been meeting on Sunday night since 1994. The Baxter is an old historic building in downtown Bozeman that was designed by the major architect of the city, Fred Willson. It was originally a hotel with a beautiful lobby that had great acoustics. The musicians used to meet in the lobby but you may now find them in a corner of the Robin bar as the lobby was recently remodeled into a restaurant. Baxter sessions have been host to many musicians traveling through Bozeman, including Jean Michel Veillon. Some of the Baxter session musicians also meet on Saturday at the Roasting Company session. The Baxter session starts at 8:pm. Tunes mostly with songs welcome. Friendly and open with plenty of advanced music making. (Non smoking.)
