The PotKiln

This session is on the first Sunday of every month.
The Potkiln is in the hinterland between Reading and Newbury, and is very entertaining to try and find.
It is a very open, mostly irish session where everyone joins in with everything, so singers get the same treatment as instrumentalists, and have to put up with the same duff chords, half developed whistle solos, lunatic banjo accompaniments as the rest of us - which strangely enough they seem to like!
The level of playing is highly variable, and since the session has appeared in Shire Folk's session listings, we are sporadically invaded by hords of Morris Men, and Morris-ettes. Please come and help us fend them off by pouring Murphys in their Melodions!
The pub has The West Berkshire brewery out the back, and at least one of their ales is always available.
If you want to find it email me at mark@barbelgraphics.demon.co.uk and may God have mercy upon your soul!

I'm afraid the Potkilnsession is no more.
It changed hands, with the 'Celebrity Chef' new owner giving everyone assurances that 'nothing would change', and that of course the musicians were still welcome ...
Then guess what?
