Lately, the session hasn't gotten started til8pm, and since the pub closes at midnight wrapping up by 11:30pm is appreciated. 6-8 fairly "regular" musicians and many drop-iins, with as many as 14 or 16 on stage at a time.
I'm definitely going to try to get down there for the Sunday night session. I'm not sure if I'll be bringing my bouzouki or not (always a bit of a hassle on airplanes) but I could always bring my mandolin.
Kenny Tweedy, long time leader and host of the Session at B.D. Riley's is taking some time off, so the session is now rotating hosts. Still plenty of fine traditional music, and perhaps an opportunity for a new weekly leader to step into Kenny's estimable musical shoes. Starts around 8, wraps up around 11:30, and the pub closes at 12 midnight on Sundays.
Session starts at 7:00 and goes until Midnight.

Easily the hottest ITM session in the Lone Star State. Great players. Great crowd. Haven't been there in months, but I hear it's still going strong.

I'll be there in March
I'm going to be in Austin for the Interactive part of the South by SouthWest festival (March 11 - 15):

I see that B.D.Riley's isn't too far from the convention center:

Maybe I'll get some of my fellow geeks 'round from the festival. I see that the pub has free WiFi

Session has moved, pretty much.
The new session leaders have moved it to Fiddler's Green (listed elsewhere on this site). Some people might still be going to B.D. Riley's, not sure.
Thanks to B.D. Riley's for their years of support.
