The music played is Irish with some Welsh but we're up for anything and would love to hear what people have got to play or sing. If you're really keen there's also room for dancing.
The session is on the third sunday of every month in the bar at the rear(with the skittles ally) starting at about 8.30. The hard floor gives this room good accoustics so the sound is excellent.
I will be coming to this most probably - i play fiddle and know other fiddle/mandolin player plus a tin whistle player so I will see if they can come!
Thanks
Eleanor
This venue is working really well but beware that we are using both the snug at the front and the skittles alley at the back so you should check both.
We have jumped to the second sunday for april because of the Paul Brady gig at St Davids hall. but will go back to the third sunday otherwise.
Thanks for the posting, Eleanor by the way. Sorry I didn't reply. I haven't been checking thesession enough. Hope you enjoyed yourself. I hope you'll visit again.
Almost a year behind us at the Roath Park, now. This is a really good venue for acoustic music.
We're arriving soon after 8.00 to get a bit more playing time at the moment. Although as a guide this is still every third sunday it is worth contacting me to check just in case something's happened to alter this.
We've had a comment about the lack of dates on this page so here goes. The dates for the spring sessions are march 20th, april 17th and may15th. These aren't written in stone so if you want updating as we go along send me your E-mail address if you haven't already done so.
To fit in with local events we run this on the third sunday of every month. Dates for the summer are June 19th, July 17th, August 21st and September 18th.
If you want to be e-mailed before each session send me a message at richardmordey@hotmail.com.
