Is this the social club on Deans Road? I tried to find you a couple of weeks ago. I went in but didn't seem anyone was around. Can't make it this week but would like to make it next week, just need to be sure where i'm going.
I wasn't able to be there last week (sorry, Gavin!), but I went there yesterday evening (3rd July). The barman pointed out a notice by the bar saying that henceforth the club will be open on Monday-Friday from 12 noon to 7.30pm only - which effectively knocks on the head any thought of sessions.
As it happened, the club was still sort of "open" - just one old chap at the bar, the barman, and me. The barman said he was keeping it open just for that evening in case any musicians turned up, but he saw no point in continuing further. I must say I agreed with him.
So that's it. A pity, because there's a lot of potential in the area. However, the evening clientele at the club has dropped to virtually zero over the last few weeks (no-one seems to know why), so it's obviously no longer commercially viable for weekday evenings.
New Thursday session led by members of Spiro. Very cheap alcohol.

Is the Art Centre also the social club?
