Thanks to all for first two session!

Thanks to all the instrumentalists and singers!

Sunday 10th was a great evening, lots of jigs and reels with a good number of favourite songs - with accordion, fiddle, two flutes, a guitarist, a singer, and me on banjo; and an appreciative audience! A great night had by all.

Sunday 17th another night of traditional revelry with some great surprises - 2 fiddles, flute/guitar, whistle, banjo, four singers - and the audience tapping/singing along... and smiles all round!

glad to hear some other instrumentalists turned up and it went well :) did you get a mic set up to the pubs PA?

# Posted on February 19th 2008 by Daniel Gott

Hi Daniel! I brought a PA along and discreetly placed the speakers on the floor by the ends of the long seat thing, so it's not too gig-like. 3 mics for fiddle, vocals and banjo, and DI-ed fiddle and guitar, and mainly acoustic whistle. The sound's quite good, but I can see the odd beer getting spilt. All the best.

ps and acoustic flute, sorry Robin! and I should say that two guitarist/singers and the whistle player play as a band, and are brilliant. And of course two people playing the spoons.

Thanks again all! On Sunday we had a uilleann piper (although he didn't stay long - he said he'll come back and bring some musicians next Sunday, for which I would be extremely grateful), the guitarists/singers/whistle trio, flute, singer, banjo and mandolin (the mandolin is actually too quiet to hear, must try to amplify it somehow). Some classic songs and a few less-known, a fun session... looking forward to next Sunday.

Well we seem to have survived another Sunday, thanks to 2 guitars, 2 whistles, flute and various singers. We are developing some sets, the tunes of which are in my tunebook (thery're mixed up as they can't be sorted in sets). If you would like a copy of the music arranged in sets, please get in touch.

Thanks to Robin, Steve and Philip

Another magical Sunday Evening. Robin wasn't there due to a birthday, but thanks to him for all the other Sundays. Great songs from Steve and great whistle tunes from Philip. See you all tomorrow. We are also playing a short set on St Patrick's Day (in the band's break). Should be fun.

Ok i'm getting a bit lazy with the blog. If there is anyone out there reading this, I'm sorry for the delay!

Sun 30th: Thanks to Mike for the great guitar playing and singing; and to Amy for singing. Thanks also to a duo who did some songs.

O'Neill's Muswell Hill London - no longer a session?

I visited this one for the first time 31/8/08 & there were two people playing standing up into microphones. It was Irish music, but possibly now a band rather than a session.

O'Neill's

Does anyone have any information that this is still going ?

# Posted on April 1st 2010 by Guernsey Pete

this was never a session, it was some sort of gig thing

There may still be live music, I'm not sure - check with the venue. But this session is no longer running.
