O'Reilly's Bar Session

The venue is located opposite Collin’s Barracks on the north side of the city. It is relatively close to the city centre, just walk up St. Patricks Hill and turn right. There are also plenty of parking spaces available. Don’t let the fact that it is at the top of St Patricks Hill and a little off the beaten track put you off, it is well worth a visit.

This session begins at about 9.30pm on Saturday night in the very comfortable lounge. It is generally anchored by Blarney box player Ray O’Brien accompanied by a fiddle player, for example this week Caomhín Valley of Nomos accompanied Ray with other musicians falling in. The music is as steady as a rock and relaxed.

There is a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere for one and all and visiting musicians are more than welcome to join in the session.
