Believe it or not the other Hootannany is in Inverness. This pub has featured some great live music and sessions over the last few years although it gets a bit noisy at times.
It's actually the same company and, I believe a brother and sister enterprise. The sister is running the London end.
The only negative aspect of the Inverness venture is that the owner there, Kit Fraser, was *very anti* the smoking ban and was a founder of the Publican Party which championed the "right to choose" whether to have your lungs blackened by smoke!
Thanks Taddles - if you are who I think you are I'm sure you will appreciate my distinction of "goatwhacker" from bodhran *player*. And for that matter, strummers as opposed to guitarists. Hope that makes sense. I'll try and get along soon. Tuesday or Wednesday appeals the most.
Went along last night (Monday). Collette O'Leary on accordion, Jason on fiddle and myself.
Well, Collette's playing made me cry. I just can't describe it. She is a musician.
Hootananny Sessions
There is music every night of the week at The Hootananny music bar in Brixton.
Sessions start around 8.30pm and finish around 11pm.
Davy the manager wants to look after all the musicians who come down for a tune. So enjoy a couple of free drinks.

Anyway, the ban is here to stay .
