Lloyds Session

This is a new weekly session, started Monday 16 April 2007. It starts about 9pm and finishes at closing time 11pm. All Welcome.

The weekly session in Chorlton-cum-Hardy has been in the Marble, The Beech and until last week, The Feathers. We all arrived at the Feathers last Monday and the doors were locked. We knew that Lloyds had blues on Thursdays so we all went there and asked the landlord if we could play there. He said yes because it was his birthday. He said there's a folk band on 21st May as part of Chorlton Festival so there won't be a session that night, otherwise, it should be ok.

It's a friendly session, probably the friendliest in Manchester. It wouldn't be suitable for beginners but improvers yes. It is of variable quality but good craic. We are appreciating the nice beer (JW Lees) now after The Feathers.

This is a fantastic session, good tunes are regularly played and there are some really fine musicians there.

This session has lots of players, so it's big, noisy, draggy and messy.

Cajun Session

There is a Cajun session in this pub on the last Tuesday of every month. 9pm until about 11.30pm. All welcome.

The weekly Monday night session is still limping along.

Not really on

The Monday night session appears to have finished in that players turned up last Monday and there was a PA setup in progress. The landlord had put an act on instead without telling anyone. The session's in limbo at the moment.
