Hmm... sounds interesting, Ed. Do you play other sessions? Where? Tell us more about the London Ceilidh Band.

Yeah sounds like a good spot.
I'll try to get to this one. Would be handy to have an early afternoon venue. I'm on holiday for a couple of weeks but maybe see you guys on the 22nd.

Ed - As you are someone who concerns yourself with many different genres of music, I was wondering, what sort of repertoire to expect to prevail? Exclusively Irish? Scots? English? A pot-pourri?

...My question has just been answered. I had a look at your tunebook.

Sunday 5 August

Is Sunday 5th August still on? I notice it's not listed in Time Out this week.

2009 Sessions - Rattling on at a goodly pace... Onwards and upwards

The session has settled in very comfortably over the past 18 months.

We still operate on the first Sunday of every month, starting at 4.00pm. Very informal and relaxed. A mixture of English, Irish and Scottish tunes, with an occasional song thrown in.

We have also begun to operate as a bookable band, doing gigs here and there. And occasionally you'll find us busking in the streets of London. Do join us!

This band runs in parallel with a Ceilidh Band that has been set up at the School of Oriental and African Studies [SOAS] at Russell Square. Meets every Friday night in term-time at 6.00pm.

You may be interested to know about the next LONDON FIDDLE CONFERENCE, which is to be held at SOAS on Ftriday 20th to Sunday 22nd February 2009.
