Your list of Bristol Sessions is out of date. The following are no longer holding sessions - The Barley Mow, The Richmond Springs, The Plume of Feathers, The Duke of Cambridge.
Note that this is primarily an English session. It usually consist of two or three boxes, a concertina or two, a couple of mandolins, a flute/whistle, and one or two fiddles (I'm one of them), and, to be fair, there isn't much room for many more.
Regarding some of the other sessions mentioned by Geoffwoolfe, The Duke of Cambridge pub is no more (it's now a block of flats), the Barley Mow in St Philips alternates on Fridays with The Plume of Feathers in Hotwells, and the Monday session that used to be at The Plume of Feathers is now at The Lion (5 minutes climb away at the top of a flight of steps opposite The Plume.
Yes! The Plume and Barley Mow are still alternating on Fridays. They are popular and friendly sessions. Lets make sure we get all our facts straight before launching into speculation.
There will be NO sessions at the Merchants Arms during August 2007, mainly because too many people will be away on holiday.
It is expected that there will be a session on Tuesday 4th September, and it is very likely that it will be the LAST one at this venue (reason - the brewery wants to get more people in, apparently). We are currently looking for a replacement venue in the same area (Clifton/Hotwells), on a Tuesday if possible, so watch this space for further news.
