I live in Tracy, California in San Joaquin County and there is NOTHING here for music. The nearest session is in Berkeley which is a solid 1-1/2 hours away. There seems to be some interest in bluegrass and old-time out here and people seem to know what Irish session tunes are. I'm working on putting together a new session. We have a local favorite restaraunt called The Great Plate which has a restaraunt and bar and in the front room there's a large square conversation pit style area that would be just PERFECT for a session. Let me know if you're in the general area and interested in being notified when the session is up and running. Email me at mandotim@sonic.net and I'll add you to the list. Once established, I'll update this entry with times and address info.
Looking for local folks interested in starting a new session
I live in Tracy, California in San Joaquin county. There's a tiny bit of Bluegrass enthusiasm but absolutely no Irish session activity. I'm trying to get together enough local folks who might be interested and starting a new session. I have the perfect venue in mind, just need to find some others like myself who want to play.
If there's anyone in Tracy, Stockton, Manteca, Ripon, Livermore, or other San Joaquin environs who's interested in being on a mailing list to hear about a session in Tracy, please email me at mandotim@sonic.net.
We have the perfect spot here in town to host a session...I just need enough folks to make it happen!
Ok. We have a reasonably regular group now and have established a rotating house session arrangement between three of our houses (two in Tracy and one in Stockton). We are gathering from 2-5pm on the third Sunday of every month. To be informed of the place for each session, join the yahoo list at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/TracyIrishSession/
