Downtown Denver -- the pub is the Disneyland of Irish pubs, but what the hell. Tim Murphy is the co-session leader, this one has been changing times and could be any time from 5:00 to 9:00 depending -- lately I've heard reports that the session could be deserted or could be crowded, just depends on the week and who shows up. Fast session, but beginners are welcome to hang out and maybe play a tune or two.
On Sundays, we're not starting at 6:30ish and run until about 10ish. Usually we have at least 5 and as many as a dozen, but keep it under control past that. Rare that we've got too many to fit or play comfortably.
Monday session is now being run by Jerry (forget his last name) -- BIG session, lots of players from beginner all the way through, some Old Time and Cape Breton when I last visited. (Along with two hammer dulcimers and two piano accordions, though I heard that that was not usual.)
hey! i just got back from popping in on the sunday night session. i felt so welcomed and comfortable playing tunes - everyone was so nice and really friendly. i had a great time and i'll definitely be back!
thanks dudes!
After several years, the Sunday session at Fado in Denver is no longer.
Management tossed us out, saying they wanted something different. So they went with the pub quiz format (a rather drunken version of a trivia quiz) and sent he musicians packing.
So be it.
We'll be announcing a new Denver session on Sundays shortly!!
The Denver Sunday Session is now at Scruffy Murphy's Non-Smoking Irish Pub, located near the corner of 20th and Larimer Streets. Same musicians, starting time 7:00 PM.
This is a nice, smallish pub with nice acoustics and no juke box or video games going during the session.
Every Sunday, starts between 1930 and 2000 hrs. Usually advanced session, but open to all - very friendly. Attendance varies from a handful to over 15 musicians.
This session (Fado on Sundays) has been defunct for some years now. We are working on a new location for this and should have information about it posted in the next few weeks.

Oops, okay, so now I get how this works for multiple sessions at one pub.
Sunday: Tim Murphy Co-session leader
Time varies, call the pub for latest time, 5:00 was the last time I heard about, usually ends well before 9
Monday: Michelle MacGregor, session leader
Time varies, call the pub for latest time, last I heard, anytime from 7 to 9 and going til about 9 or 10
