This is a beautiful theme pub in the centre of Seville opposite the cathedral. There is a typical Andalucian patio at the back, unless things have changed in the 5 years since I was last there.
At the time, Ger, the owner/manager told me he was interested in having live traditional music there and I´ve often wondered if anything actually materialised.
Do we know when the sessions take place and who the musicians are ?
It´s a 10 hour drive down from Bilbao but, you never know, I´ve done madder things !
We gather every thursday evening from 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
The base lineup of the session is as follows:
Antonio a.k.a. "Voke" and Alexis: uilleann pipes and whistles.
Julio and Javier: traverse wooden flute.
Antonio: Fiddle.
Miguel Angel a.k.a. "More": Whistles and galician bagpipes.
Jose a.k.a. "More chico": Bodhràn.
Juan Pedro (that's me): acoustic guitar.
There are much other friends who love to come and play from time to time, so don't be surprise if you find more fiddles, accordion, flute, banjo, bouzuki, spoons, bones and so on.
We hope to see everyone of you here sometime. Foreign musicians are always most welcome.
The session moved from P.Flaherty's to Madigan's. This pub is in "Plaza de Cuba", just 10 min.walk from P.Flaherty's. The day and the hour will be still the same (every thursday at 7.30 p.m), and the musicians are the same aswell
The session is not regular during the summer, and we may change the pub due to some troubles with local authority...hopefully we'll be back in Septembre in other Pub in the city centre, I'll keep this updated when we start de the regular session. Take care!

the regular session is back, now, every friday evening from 8 to 10 pm, at Merchant's Malt House pub, in the city centre of Seville. Musicians are always welcome, being the average of the session a "mid-high" standard.

Many thanks for your welcome, I had a great time and really appreciate the way you made me feel at home. As we said, it's amazing to meet people for the first time and be able to play tunes together for over two hours.
