Los Alamos session

Sundays, 7:30 - 10, at the Unitarian Church.

Irish, Scottish, old-time, smatterings of other stuff. We play regularly for Scottish country dancing, occasionally for contra dances, and other events for fun. There can be anywhere from two or three to a dozen or so, and anyone is welcome. Check out our website, or contact cj or roaringj thru thesession.org for info.

Sounds like a wonderful idea to me, a session in a church, fair play you guys.
I never did get that idea that God wouldn't enjoy a fine tune or a good knees up once in a while.
I'm sure he let's his hair down as well, from time to time.

We're still at it, and we're enjoying occasional new blood to get us long-timers charged up.
Well, since it's a Unitarian church, it's probably less about whether God would enjoy a fine tune or knees up than whether folks down here could benefit from it!
Not to start a theological discussion...

Wednesdays at 7:30 now. Two of our musicians just spent time at Zouk Fest, and a couple came back from Alasdair Fraser's Fiddle Camp, too. Another one was at Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp last summer. One of our fiddlers just took 3rd place at the Southwest Old Time and Bluegrass Festival.

We've been invited, and accepted the invitation, to play at New Mexico Folk Music and Dance's fall contra dance camp - a full weekend, Fri night to Sunday afternoon, of dancing. We're also playing for an Irish ceilidh at the Santa Fe Convention Center to kick off an Irish Dance Festival the first weekend in Oct.

However, given that we play a *lot* of gigs, we're still an open group of musicians-come-all and have all levels of players of a wide variety of instruments. Look us up when you're in northern New Mexico -
