Starts at 9:30 ends at 12:00 with a 45min break for Irish dancers. They use mikes and a sound system.I was told that was the way it had been since the start,8 years ago.Good playing mostly Irish with a bit of Cape Breton thrown in because its Canada after all.
Its Open as far as I could tell. Iasked if I could sit in (no mic} and no problem. You may even get a free beer. Iwas told that players come from as far as Airdrie.
It's completely open - They have a house band that's paid to play (at least of two of the McDades are usually among them), but anybody can join in and gets free drinks. Mics are sometimes shared too, provided you know what you're stuff. Usually there are about 6 musicians but I've seen as many as 10.
