A great wee session where musicians of all abilities are made to feel welcome - but don't be surprised if you receive some constructive criticism if you are a learner (especially bodhran players!)
Meets first Friday of every month and starts around 9 pm.
Publican Mathew Davey looks after the musicians very well.
Can sometimes be a little noisy!
Regulars include Eddie Dornan, John Savage, Tony Kipling (fiddle), Michael Keown and John Mc Greevy (bouzouki), Brendan Carson and Seamus McKibbin (flute), Peter McKee (bodhran), Vincy Polland, Mark Keown and Tom Polland (banjo),
Niall Murphy (accordeon).
The pub has had a major refurbishment and the session spot is even better than before. You can sit upstairs and drink and slabber to your heart's content or go down into the pit where the music flows unhindered by the chattering upstairs.
Mattie is trying out a Wednesday every week during the summer. A few of the local musicians will be paid to be there but anyone else is more than welcome to join in.
