This is a new session organised by my mate Fran the Fiddler. It will take place on the first Friday of every month. The first event is 4th June.
Fran plays with Shave the Monkey and some of them together with an assortment of Kentish folk and some from south of the M25 and even SE London will be there to get things off to a good start.
First session got off to a good start with a healthy crowd in the top bar. Interesting mixture of instruments and a few songs too. Some people dancing. Nice friendly pub. Hoping to repeat on the first Friday night of July so put the date in your diaries!!!
The session is on again this Friday (4th Feb). I can't make it due to gig committments but I'm sure it will be the usual blend of good fun, music and song
Heya, just wondered what sort of tunes you tend to play at this session. I'm currently based in orpington so it's a bit of a drive but I'm keen to get to some good sessions this year and add to my rather limited repertoire of jigs and reels etc. I play tenor banjo and mandolin mostly. Also key question number two - what's the beer like?
