The session (some 4 or 5 weeks in being) starts around 8.00pm as a Slow Session. Once the common tune sets (Foinn Seisiun Book tunes) are played during the first hour, players are then encouraged to introduce their own tunes (or sets) as in a conventional session. This session is pitched more at the improver rather than "high flyer" musician but is nevertheless very enjoyable particularly as it takes place around a real fire!
Throughout the Summer, the session turned into a more formal event where entertainment was aimed at visitors to the Centre. It's now back to the more informal arrangement starting next Saturday (9 Sept) around the fire at 8.00pm - all musicians are welcome!
Mid-week Sessions in this newly refurbished centre start from tomorrow night (Tuesday, 4 Sept). The format for the Tuesday session will start slow at 8.00pm with a tunelist to be followed by a normal speed session after an hour or so. see details below.
