The session starts at 9pm Monday evenings. Usually there's up to about a dozen or so musicians. Mixed instruments: 1-4 fiddles, banjos, guitars, mandolins, flutes, whistles, uillean pipes. The "Duke", although small, is a well-known local venue for folk music, jazz, and traditional Irish. Ben Lennon did a gig at the "Duke" in August 2002 - the place was packed to capacity.
To find the pub, take the 1st turnoff from the M32 going out of Bristol, cross over the M32 and as you leave the roundabout immediately take a sharp left turn. This turning is virtually hidden from view, so take care. Then about 100yds ahead you'll see the "Duke" on a corner. Street parking is usually no problem, but don't attempt to use the car park behind the pub. It's for residents only and you could get locked in. Tel num of the pub is 9020330.

There are now no sessions at the Duke of Cambridge in Bristol, Somerset, because of a change of management.

Most sessioneers from the Duke of Cambridge have now moved to a flourishing new session at the Duke of York, St Werburgh's, a short distance away on the other side of the M32.

Duke of Cambridge, Bristol

The Duke of Cambrdige pub has now closed, and the building is going to be turned into apartments.
The Duke of York, session successor to the Duke of Cambridge, is no longer used for Monday sessions. The main Monday night session in Bristol is now at the Plume of Feathers in Hotwells (by the docks) - and very successful it is, too.
