Great, friendly seisiun. 6-10 musicians on average, open to all enthusiasts. Sing alongs, ballads, rebel tunes and trad served up every Sunday 3-8pm. Great pints!
This is more of a singing seisiun than a trad seisiun really. Trad players are always welcome but it's usually a large group of singers. Great ppl, great pints. Starts at 4 PM on Sundays with football season.
In order to accommodate the viewers of European football on TV (by which I mean soccer), the session has departed the planet as of Summer 2011.
At least that's the reason Mrs. Briggs (the owner) gave us.
Darts are still happening, as are musical performances by hard-core IRA bands over the worst adjusted PA system in North America. See their website for schedules. Bring foam earplugs and don't soak them in Guinness first.
PS - the bartender was one of the losers in the last Irish Coffee Contest, though it is adequate and decent, .
The pub is about to change hands, and the new owenrs might well restore the session, which is unplugged. I met them a few weeks back. They asked me to resume playing there, but I'm awfully busy with my Dublin Square session and other things. Played there for 20 years with Billy Briggs, God rest his soul!-Bill O'Neal www.billoneal.com
