The Thursday night session will be in the downstairs bar this Thursday (November 12th 2009) from 9pm on (just inside the main door off Camden Street). Again, all musicians are very welcome to join in as are singers, dancers and drinkers!
This is easily the friendliest session I've been to in Dublin (I have only been twice so far, but so far so good!). Padraig is a great host who seems to make sure to talk to new people who show up. Both times I was there, there were some really great musicians and good craic too.
The only complaint I have is with the lousy acoustics (it's a big open space with rather noisy punters in close proximity to the musicians) which makes it hard to hear everyone else, but I've been to sessions with much worse acoustics so it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
If you're going to show up, better to get there early or you'll have to fight for a seat - it's a popular spot!

I used to attend this session every week but I now live in upstate New York so this will be my first visit to my old haunt and a lot of folks are planning on attending.

i'm a fiddle player of fair to middling abilities (i.e. can hold a tune!).
