A high-quality traditional session in a friendly and intimate modern Irish bar just a stone's throw from Cathedral Square. Session kicks off around 8:00 pm. I had a great night there one evening when I was passing through Christchurch. It's a welcome contrast to the raucousness of The Bog's Tuesday session.
Went to the Irishman when visiting Canterbury one Thursday in September 2009. Enjoyed listening to and joining in with this small trad session which started around 8:30pm. Would suit those who prefer mostly tunes. Small group of friendly people - fiddle, accordions (x2), whistles and bodhran (and guitar for the short time I played!). Would recommend it. Nice bar too.

Nice little bar and a good session
