From 6.30pm - 10.30pm most (if not every) Sunday. It's a big modern pub with flatscreen TV's wherever you turn. They do a sunday carvery and football beforehand but there is always a strong Irish contingent in there for the music. There's usually a mountain of roast potatoes handed out as well. At least 4 compitent players are always there - guitar, fiddle, box, whistle, pipes or banjo. Welcoming to beginners and quite a few kids turn up (who are very good) from the Irish centre in St. Albans. Nice music to be had here and worth checking out if you're in the area.
The box player is Mick Lennon.
I played there last night and the Irish contingent was very merry after the All Ireland. Not a pub for a quiet song and a pint then. But good music though I say so myself.
Just to confirm that The Fox session has been going strong as I've been running it for the last 3 years and continues with Ceol Beo players. It is an open session all players welcome. It currently runs from 7pm every Sunday with very few exceptions. You can get a carvery untill 6pm.
