The Blarney South

I wasn't sure of the exact address, but it is between 3rd and 4th streets on South St. It starts about 8:30 and runs til whenever.

It's a very loose session. Many times someone will play a folk or rock song. That part does not appeal to me, but the fact that the trad musicians who are regulars are very warm and welcoming.

Great session for trying out tunes you are still learning--just mention that you'd like to take this one at a slower tempo. Everyone will happily oblige.

I should add that it is run by fiddler Harold Dunn.

Moved

The Blarney South sessions have moved. The sessions are now held at The Irish Times located on the n.e. corner of 2nd and Bainbridge. The sessions are still loose, but a lot of fun. It is still run by Harold and is still warm and welcoming.

The Blarney boys are back at the Blarney

The Blarney South session has moved back to the Blarney. Catch it there every Thursday, starting around 9PM. Songs, tunes, beer and ale, and always a strange and wonderful crowd from the shows at the TLA.

Sessions are loose, level varies but is generally moderate to immoderate, and everyone is welcome.

Harold
