Santa Cruz's finest Irish style musicians have emerged from the woodwork...too bad the local venues can't make up their minds which color upholstery to go with or whether they'd rather have karaoke on Wednesdays! Whaddya mean the venue's closed!?
My kingdom for a good Irish pub in Santa Cruz that knows what it's got when David Brewer and Theo Paige walk into a room to play trad tunes!
Deep breath. So after nearly a year playing great tasty tunes together at various venues in the area, we're now taking the session to a private home in Santa Cruz. Experienced musicians please call or email ahead to find out where we are! Hope you can drop in if you're in the area!
This month marks the third anniversary of the resurrection of the Santa Cruz session! We've carried on the community tradition at Theo Paige's studio, attracting the area's finest Irish musicians and esteemed guests from all over California and beyond.
The Santa Cruz session continues on a bi-weekly basis at the Paige studio, and sometimes we give the Paige's a break and convene at other homes in the area. Please contact Julie Horner at juliah@cisco.com or call (831) 344-1523 to be added to the email list so you'll know where we will be meeting on a given week!
Only in Santa Cruz! Irish Session Goes Underground!
Ongoing in 2011 and 2012!
Yes! Experienced Santa Cruz area Irish style musicians still meet *some* Wednesdays when the majority of the players aren't in Ireland or at various music camps! Please send email to Julie or David if you're in the area and would like to be added to the invitation list for these occasional gatherings!
Please, experienced Irish style players only, no sheet music, no slow play. Thanks!

PS: The next nearest session for experienced players occurs every Tuesday night at O'Flaherty's Irish Pub in downtown San Jose. The Tuesday players just celebrated 7 uninterrupted years playing together at the pub!
