This is an album of the authentic piping. Though Fred Morrison was born in Glasgow, his style of piping is deeply rooted in the musical tradition of South Uist, Outer Hebrides, where his father originally comes from. It seems he also bring back not a few traditional Scottish tunes from Cape Breton.
The arrangement of the recording is quite simple, but Fred Morrison's pipes and low whistle playings really stand out. His piping is steady but amazingly impulsive, while, by contrast, he plays slow airs on the low whistle lyrically. His style of uillean piping is also unique and remarkable.
