This was one of the greats. A nice tribute to Junior Crehan to name the album after his composition. Also great singing by the old boys with backing by Alec Finn on bouzouki. Issued in 1980 its still good a quarter of a centuary later.
folks, the "sean ryan's" in track 9 is not a jig, as the notes here claim. it is a reel, which makes sense given that it is paired with the reel "cottage in the grove."
The notes here don't make any such claim at all. It is unfortunate that the software here can only link to a specific tune title, but it's something we just have to live with. If Sean Ryan has both a jig and reel bearing his name, it's a toss-up whether the link will connect to the correct jig or reel in the database.
