I just purchased this album, and it is fantastic. Track 10 is a particularly special arrangement, as Kathleen and Hughie play along with the composer, her grandfather, Neillidh Boyle who passed away in 1961.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen several times, and she is not only a wonderful player, but a genuinely nice girl.
Got this CD at a Cherish the Ladies concert recently. Quite nice -- a wonderful collection of tunes!!! I echo Red Crow's comments about Kathleen -- she's a very talented pianist and box player who's got a great personality (and a quick wit to boot!).
lineup:
Kathleen Boyle: piano accordion & piano
Hughie Boyle: piano accordion
Eamon Doorley: bouzouki
Julie Fowlis: vocals
Ali Hutton: guitar
Duncan Lyall: double bass
Kevin O'Neill: flute
Martin O'Neill: bodhran
Jenna Reid: fidde
Heidi Talbot: vocals
