This was an independent cassette-only release (cat. no. FKT1) by the Donegal fiddler Frank Kelly who comes from just north of Glenveagh. As its title implies, this is a paean to the Drennan, Ballybofey fiddler Hugh Gillespie and Frank is accompanied throughout by guitarist Liam Deery. It's a grand album and somewhat sad that it's never been reissued in CD format.
All the tracks are sets of reels apart from nos. 3 & 11 (jigs), 6 (hornpipes) and the strathspeys which make up 'Stirling Castle selection'.
'Paddy McGill's' was actually composed by the Glenties-born novelist Patrick McGill for Hugh Gillespie.

I've heard the two fiddlers playing together, Hugh Gillespie & Frank Kelly, magnificent music, laid back, inspirational...
