Originally issued on Polydor in 1972, this was the debut album of the band from Ferns, Co, Wexford which mixed ballads with instrumental tracks. The album has been reissued on CD by the Kissing Spell label.
The title of track 3 is puzzling and should be 'Sean Dún-na-nGall'.
Unbelievably, the LP record used to sell for about £200. One of the rarest traditional Irish records around. Their singing was better than their instrumental abilities. Strange people, "collectors".
I've heard them once on an old tv recording aired on Come West Along the Road. I thought their vocal harmonies, though simple, were effective, lending to evocative songs. Though, as Kenny says, they were far from instrumental geniuses.
