With ten all-Ireland titles, is regarded as one af the all time greats. On the first Conhaltas tour of North America in 1972. Has issued a number of albums.
'Na Ridiri (Translated as the"Knights") is the name given to a group of twelve musicians, singers and dancers - all champions in their own right, selected to tour Australia in October 1994 by Diarmuid O'Cathain, former Uachtaran of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eirann, following many requests received on the occassion of his visit to that continent in the Spring of 1993.
The show, produced by Fr. Pat Ahern, the artistic director of the famed Siamsa Tire Folk Theatre in Tralee, depicts all that is best in the traditional music,singing and dancing of Ireland. The musicians and singers are complimented (sic) by star dancers - Celine Hession (Galway) Margaret Hogan & Michael Cooney (Tipperary)and choreographer and dancer Donncha O' Muineachain, Cork and Dublin.
Vincent Crowley, Bantry Co. Cork Has won four All-Ireland titles. Has toured North America & Britain.
Anne Mcaullife, Castleisland Co.Kerry One of the most respected and versatile musicians playing Irish music. A former All-Ireland champion and member of Siamsa Tire Folk Theatre, Tralee.
Nicholas McAuliffe, Castleisland, Co. Kerry Like his wife Anne is a champion and versatile musician and is also a member of the Siamsa Tire Folk Theatre.
Willie Fogarty, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary A former All-Ireland Champion, he is an authority on the music of the late Paddy O'Brien.
Nora Butler, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Four times All-Ireland champion ballad singer. Toured North America and Britain on three occassions.
Eileen O'Brien, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Daughter of the late Paddy O'Brien, is a former All-Ireland champion on the violin and like her father is a composer of note.
Donnie Nolan, Ardagh, Co. Limerick. A star on the button accordion, he is a former All-Ireland champion ballad singer and leader of the Taylor's Cross Ceili Band.
