I don't think any of the versions of the songs or tunes are necessarily better than the studio versions but they have that energy that comes from live performance.
Paul Brady assembled a little supergroup for this live recording. There's Andy Irvine, Donal Lunny, Noel Hill, Paddy Glackin, Matt Molloy and Liam O'Flynn.
The concert took place in 1978. This album was released in 2001.
Several of these tunes including Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore, Jackson and Jane, and The Creel were first released by Paul Brady on his 1978 album "Welcome Here Kind Stranger". This was never released on CD because the master recordings were lost until very recently. The tracks are now available on the web at paulbrady.com as digital downloads.
