CEF 027 - 33 1/3 - Ceol Tire - Classed as Folk - Irish Traditional
Recorded in 1970, this group is of course the predecessor to the Chieftains, so is important.
Na Ceoltoiri:
Sean O Riada, Sean O Se, Mairtin Fay, Sean O Ceallaigh, Sean O Cathain, Paddy Moloney, Sean Potts, Micheal O Toibride, Eamon de Buitlear, Peadar Mercier & Sean O Riada.
This is a live recording of the O Doirnin bi-centenary concert which was to honour one of the nation's poets.
Any fan of the Chieftains work would surely enjoy listening to this recording.
Must say I love the sound of the Harpsichord on this.

Is this one of those influential albums like the early michael coleman, the bothy band's first or the black planxty album?

Well, I suppose it might be classed as such by out & out Chieftains fans, but NOT if you are not a fan of ye olde Orchestrated Trad!
Anyway, a lot of the stuff on this LP appeared again, if I am not very much mistaken, on early Chieftain's albums.
