This recording was first issued as an LP on the Tradition label in 1959, and was titled The Bonny Bunch of Roses & Uillean Pipes, Tin Whistle and Folk Songs of Ireland Played and Sung by Seamus Ennis (TLP1013). The CD reissue is also on the Tradition label (TCD 1023), with a brief excerpt of the original liner notes about Seamus by producer Robin Roberts and some equally brief notes on the tunes by Seamus himself.
The first, third, fifth, twelfth, and last tracks are uillean pipes solos. The seventh, eighth, and tenth tracks are tin whistle solos. The sixth track is an unaccompanied love song in Irish. The second, fourth, ninth, eleventh, and penultimate tracks are unaccompanied (and mostly humorous) ballads in English.
