This is really the Shannon Family album. It rivals the McCarthy or the Mulcahy familys' fine CDs. While Gary's playing is often alarmingly close to new-age pyrotechnics the album has a wonderful feel for the traditional. I don't think the singing is on a par with the rest of the album, but I generally feel that way about singing. I don't understand why singing is incuded on an otherwise wonderful instrumental album. Thank God McEvoy, Bradley, Molloy, et. al., know better.
