Hard to believe this CD is almost 13 years old. Tempus fugit! Still sounds as good today as it did then. "Jean's Reel" was composed by Bobby McLeod - not Bobby McFerrin, as it says in the notes!
Hello, Can anybody help me with a name for the 2nd hornpipe on Sharon Shannon's self titled album. It is track 3. "queen of the west". The liner notes say "...The first one is called Queen of the West which I learnt from Tommy Peoples and the second is an American Tune" But the name of that tune is not listed. A title would be greatly apreciated.
Check out http://www.irishtune.info/tune/1626/ and you'll find that it's really Track 4 that has the hornpipes. But that site doesn't seem to acknowledge the presence of the second hornpipe in the set. Track 3 is the waltz "Retour des Hirondelles" (listed on the CD as Track 4) and "Music For a Found Harmonium". So still no answer to your question.

Re: Looking for the name of a Sharon Shannon hornpipe
Why do you want the tune's name? I'm not trying to be nippy, just curious
