Founded in 2000 by Professor Mick Moloney, The Washington Square Harp and Shamrock Orchestra (or WSHSO, for short) is based in New York City and is made up of musicians from the City’s Irish music community. The group's repertory recalls that of the Irish-American dance bands of the early twentieth century, like The Four Provinces Orchestra, Dan Sullivan’s Shamrock Band, Pat Roche’s Harp and Shamrock Orchestra, and the Erin’s Pride Orchestra.

The musicians on the recording include:

Kate Bowerman: piccolo, whistle
Donie Carroll: vocals (track 6), guitar
Brendan Dolan: piano
Lisa Farber: flute
Suzanne Grossman: fiddle
Liz Hanley: vocals (track 8), fiddle
Linda Hood: flute
Tony Horswill: fiddle
Liz Kennedy Bradley: fiddle
Don Meade: harmonica, fiddle
Dan Milner: harmony vocals, bodhran
Mick Moloney: vocals (track 4), tenor banjo, mandolin, octave mandolin
Daniel Neely: vocals (track 10) tenor banjo, mandolin, octave mandolin
Gail Neely: flute
Scott Spencer: flute
Louise Sullivan: vocals (track 2), fiddle
