This time, David Kincaid includes not only songs of the Union Army, but also a few of the Confederate.
There are quite a few recognisable tunes on this one, like Men of the West/Rosin the Bow (Kelly's Irish Brigade), Lanigan's Ball (The President's Ball) and Whiskey in the Jar (We'll Fight for Uncle Sam)
Same great singer, same great band, just as well done as his first album, The Irish Volunteer, though, imho, better because it includes Confederate songs (You could say I'm quite partial to those, lol, being a Confederate reenactor and all...) I had never heard a one of the Confederate songs before in my life, so it's really great that David dug them out and put them out for people to hear. It is also good in the fact that it tells many people who believe the Irish only fought for the North that there were an estimated 80,000 Irish in the Confederate Army (many in Louisiana outfits like the one I help portray.)
A very good listen even if you're not a history buff. It's excellent music just to listen to for enjoyment.
