petemay

I play piano accordion, not fashionable but I've done it for 30+ years. I play it as sensitively as I can, contrary to most accordion players, and try not to be too noisy. My instrument's swing tuned, which makes it sound more like today's button accordion, and I try to play like a button box sound too. I actually quite dislike the wet sounding accordions with excessive tremolo like Jimmy Shand used to play. Ah, surely, these things are just a fashion.

I am hooked on ITM, it's a passion, and I prefer playing reels. West Clare, especially Ennis, is my second home. Thank you Ryanair for the cheap flights.
I also sing, and play with my mates in a couple of bands, pub gigs or barn dances. Then there's a session near Canterbury every Wednesday...
