A folk music singer, guitarist, mandolinist, (Fiddler?) from Eastern Connecticut, USA. I perform in area string bands and also perform solo. (When singing Celtic music I go under my mother's maiden name so people will be aware of my Irish heritage ... I got twice the number of playing jobs once I changed my name to Micky Donovan instead of my usual French Canadian surname!)
I am a public school orchestra director with a special interest in finding fiddle tunes that work well with very inexperienced players. Our school orchestra puts on several Country Dances every year and I'm looking for others who are interested in how we do this.
