rwhelan

My name is Robbie Whelan, I'm a young earnest guitar/mandolin/bouzouki player from Pittsburgh who grew up sessioning with Bruce Foley Oliver Brown and Richard Withers of Hooley as well as the legendary Pete Shovlin and other Pittsburgh session musicians. Now I go to school in Baltimore, and have visited but have a distinct distaste for the Tuesday and Thursday night sessions at J. Patrick's in Locust Point. In high school I played with the O'Connell Street Buskers, a ridiculously-named traditional band that went to Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in 2000, but was soundly beaten in the Groupa Cheoil competition by everyone else involved. I am looking for people to gig with in the Baltimore area.
