Hey Everyone, Im Johnathan and Im from Missouri in the United States and I play fiddle, bodhran, tin whistle,and celtic harp. I tinker around on banjo, dulcimer, and Cape Breton style piano, haha, whatever that is! I love Irish music and have been playing for 4 or 5 years now. I have met and played with The Chieftains and also Derek Bell before he passed. I spent about an hour with Derek that night and it changed my persona on Irish music. I loved it then, but love it even more after I talked to Derek. He told me that this is "free music" ment for lifting spirits and making people happy, not stuffy like classical music which only appeals to a certain audience. My bigest influence is The Chieftains. I know I need to get out there and get more influences, but The Chieftains taught me what Irish music is and what it should be.
