I live in Toronto and have come to play ITM in a kind of haphazard way. I spent my twenties learning classical guitar then got involved in international folk dance which lead to playing in an number of Balkan bands. The only dancing I continued with was Irish ceili dance. In the early ninties set dancing became popular in Toronto and my wife and I have been active in that. We've made 8 trips to Ireland. I've sort of drifted into playing banjo, mandolin and for the last 7 years octave mandolin. I play an instrument made for me by David Papazian. I occasionaly go to sessions at the Victory Cafe, Doras and the Tranzac but I prefer house sessions with about 6 or 8 musicians.
