I am Michael Edinger, 57, from Denmark. The man who inspired me to take up the fiddle was Ted Furey, whom I visited in Dublin in 1972. I have played Danish, Swedish, Irish and Cajun music. I wanted an electric violin, so I built one for myself. I still do, but stopped playing in 1985 after a european tour with an american band through 11 countries, and 100 concerts, and still came home penniless. I have made electric violins for Svend Asmussen, Sean Smyth of Lunasa, Charlie McKerron of Capercaillie, and hundreds of others, famous and anonymous.
