Until shift-working put paid to it, I used to be a piper in a scottish pipe band, so I "traded in" my pipes for a set of shuttle pipes. I also play the Irish whistle ( and low D ) and the Boehm flute in a flute orchestra, playing mostly classical but jazz and contemporary stuff too. But Celtic music remains the dominant passion.
