English ex-pat. Finished my A levels back in 1978 and took my gap year in the US, and have lived here ever since. Currently reside near Seattle with my husband and three kitties.
Have been a life-long flute player (started learning when I was 12 and passed the Royal Associate Board Grade VIII exam with distinction when I was 17). Also dabble with other assorted pipes: ocarinas, recorders, native american flutes and their associated genres.
I've always loved listening to Celtic music but never played it until I got an Oak tin whistle in a Christmas stocking a year or so ago..... that got me going! I now have a soprano Sweetheart D in blackwood, and an Overton Low D and am actively engaged in a weekly slow session. Great fun. Starting to grasp whistle ornamentation (aah, the twiddly bits!) learning tunes by heart and getting up to session speeds.
